TRAINING DESCRIPTION

Define the purpose of a successful CDI program

Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) programs can make or break the success of a healthcare organization. The primary goal of CDI is to help prevent claims denials, reduce administrative burden, preserve the integrity of the medical record, and ensure clinical documentation is accurate, robust, and compliant. Successful CDI programs enable consistent feedback loops, encourage cross-team collaboration, proactively promote documentation compliance, and reduce organizational claims denials. CDI teams work hand-in-glove with medical providers to ensure clinical documentation reflects the specificity of current conditions to allow for accurate reporting of the patient’s current health status.
